The Smokey Bear Ranger District has temporarily closed several trails, trailheads and recreation sites to protect public health and safety; A Cloudcroft woman has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to killing her husband and attempting to conceal the crime; National Trails Cleanup Day community cleanup happens on Saturday; MTD Radio will be presented with six awards, four of which are for newscasts, as well as station of the year, this weekend.
